Amani National Congress Party Leader and 2022 presidential aspirant Musalia Mudavadi has called on Kenya and various stakeholders to promote an all-inclusive economic strategy.
Mudavadi whose campaign focuses on reviving and growing the economy, questioned why Kenya’s manufacturing sector was losing factories to other countries in the region including Rwanda.
He added Kenya’s economy is reliant on the containment of the Covid-19 and urged the government to allocate more funds for the purchase of the Covid-19 vaccines.
“Let’s look at the economy collectively. Let’s help every Kenyan. Let’s identify the one who’s doing business at gikomba, the one who is in juakali, the one in Bombolulu and the one who employs others in farms and identify their problems when they want to expand their business. That way we give opportunities to everyone and we build the country together,” he said.
Speaking at an interview with local media outlets Kass FM/TV, Mudavadi maintained that no one owes him any political debt after he was asked whether ODM leader Raila Odinga should throw his support behind him for the top seat in the next general elections.

In 2007 and 2017 Mudavadi joined Odinga camp and unsuccessfully campaigned for the former Prime Minister’s bid for the Presidency.
He however urged political leaders seeking elective positions next year to campaign on the basis of ideology and not to spread fear.
Still on elections, the ANC leader has urged the government to avail adequate finance to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as this will be vital in ensuring Kenya holds a peaceful, fair and transparent polls.
“The State must guarantee the independence of IEBC and should be insulated from external interference. All electoral laws should be reviewed with a view to ensure and guarantee accountability,” he added.
Mudavadi went ahead to caution political parties and politicians to stop discrediting the IEBC as that might amount to planting seeds of distrust in the electoral body before calling for a review of the electoral laws to ensure and guarantee accountability in Kenya’s electoral system.
