The M-pesa Foundation Academy has launched an 11-month post-high school programme for its 91 form four leavers intended to assist the students to define their career and entrepreneurial choices beyond the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams.
The programme will also prepare the students for leadership roles within their various areas of interest and sectors.
Les Baillie, CEO at the M-pesa Foundation Academy notes that the curriculum for the programme intends to ready the students for leadership roles within the continent by emphasizing on Africa’s history religion, philosophy and development.
The programme will also offer funding opportunities to students with investment ideas through an investment committee.
The programme is in partnership with universities such as Moi University, charities and other organizations.
It will be hosted at the newly launched Uongozi centre located inside the academy which is run at a cost of around 100 million shillings a year.
