Tala has been awarded the Best Digital Credit Provider in Risk Management at the inaugural Think Business Digital Lenders Awards 2025.
The accolade mirrors Tala’s resolute to responsible lending, cutting-edge risk management, and inclusive financial solutions.
Annstella Mumbi, General Manager at Tala, attributed the recognition to the company’s data-driven approach and technological innovation.

The award comes shortly after Tala joined more than 24,000 leading global firms including 300 from Kenya which are aligned with the UN Global Compact. The pact commits members to upholding principles in human rights, labor, environmental sustainability, and anti-corruption.
Tala’s advanced risk management framework is powered by machine learning and alternative credit scoring which has enabled it to responsibly serve customers traditionally overlooked by conventional financial institutions.

The award judges, comprising financial experts from PKF Kenya, conducted thorough evaluations, including financial audits, customer satisfaction surveys, IT security assessments, and governance reviews.
The awards ceremony, held on April 1 in Nairobi, brought together more than 20 Central Bank of Kenya (CBK)-regulated digital lenders and industry leaders under the theme “Promoting Best Practice in the Provision of Instant Credit.”
