Safaricom Cuts Dividends to Shareholders by 5.1%

Safaricom has cut its dividend payout to shareholders to Ksh.0.55 per ordinary share.

This represents a 5.1% decrease from the previous payout on March 31, 2023.

The decision came after a board meeting on February 21, 2024, where the directors deliberated on the company’s financials.

The total dividend held, according to Safaricom amounts to Ksh.23.03 billion.

This adjustment reflects the company’s cautious stance in balancing shareholder returns with the need for operational and strategic investments.
