Kenya is set to host the 2021 Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), largest tourism fair in the region, virtually between October 5, and 6, 2021.
Last year, Kenya was forced to postpone the annual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, the event will bring together domestic, regional and international tour operators, travel agents, destination agencies and various other players in the tourism trade to network and facilitate tourism business.
Commenting on the event, Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala said the event is a great opportunity for tourism stakeholders especially local exhibitors to connect and market their products in the event that has attained continental status.
“This year’s virtual event is a welcome opportunity for local exhibitors including hotels and travel agencies to benefit from the platform that will generate new business through interaction with local and international trade” said Balala.

On her part, Kenya Tourism Board CEO Dr. Betty Radier noted that the expo will be key in showcasing Kenya’s diverse tourism products and experiences as it plans to bring together exhibitors as well as buyers including tour operators, travel agents and DMCs from Kenya’s key tourism source markets in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
“Magical Kenya Travel Expo continues to be the premier regional travel expo that allows both the trade and hosted buyers to connect. This year we plan to bring together 200 buyers and 100 exhibitors to reignite the magic of travel as we showcase our rich products and experiences to global trade,” Dr. Betty Radier.
During the two-day expo, the platform’s interface will have directory listings, options for meetings, choice content sessions where participants will have a variety of live sessions to choose from and will also have debates and forums from industry experts to choose from.
