Coffee prices at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange edged up this week by 5.2% to an average price of 141 US dollars and 81 cents per bag, equivalent to 14 thousand 524 shillings.
The price of top-grade AA coffee rose by 5.8% to 266 US dollars and 25 cents per bag which is about 27 thousand 369 shillings.
The price increase was however achieved against the backdrop of a 33% dip in the quantity of coffee sold through the auction to 11,827 bags of coffee.
The value of coffee sold at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange this week stood at slightly over 212.6 million shillings.
