Zedekiah Otieno touted possible Ghost Mulee successor after Stars exit

Harambee Stars Head Coach Jacob “Ghost” Mulee has been fired after recently leading the team in the 2022 world cup qualifiers against Uganda and Rwanda.

In a statement, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) communicated the shock decision through a terse communique signed and released by Chief Executive (CEO) Barry Otieno on Wednesday.

The tactician was sent packing alongside his assistant Twahir Muhidin and goalkeeping coach Haggai Azande, sparing Sofapaka’s Ken Odhiambo and Kariobangi Sharks’ William Muluya.

“Football Kenya Federation and Harambee Stars Head Coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, his assistant Twahir Muhidin and goalkeeping coach Haggai Azande have reached a decision to part ways on mutual consent, effective immediately,” a section of the statement read.

Mulee’s sacking comes barely eight months into the job.

In the qualifiers, the Harambee Stars picked up two draws a 0-0 against the cranes and a 1-1 result against the Amavubi in early september.

FKF further concluded that,”There will be no further comment from FKF until a new appointment is made.”

With Mulee’s exit KCB coach Zedekiah Otieno has been touted as the next possible Head Coach to take over the squad since FKF is not ruling out going for a foreigner.
