Uhuru hosts European Council President, Charles Michel

President Uhuru Kenyatta met Charles Michel, the President of the European Council who paid him a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi on Tuesday.

During their meeting, the president and the visiting European Union leader discussed various issues of bilateral and multilateral interest to Kenya and the E.U.

The two leaders agreed to strengthen and scale up partnership between Africa and Kenya’s private sector and the E.U as part of efforts to increase investments, create employment and support post-COVID-19 economic recovery.

Kenyatta and Michel also agreed to upgrade Kenya’s bilateral relations with the E.U, foster a closer working relationship and accelerate the implementation of existing economic partnership agreements.
