President William Ruto is set to commission the newly constructed Wakulima Market early November.
The Ksh.800 million market is located along Kangundo Road, Nairobi County.
Upcoming commissioning was revealed by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja. The Governor said area Members of County Assembly and Ward administrators would be given offices in the market for ideal supervision and management.
“Immediately after the opening ceremony, stall owners will elect their officials who will be responsible for management of the market, including running the amenities like toilets and parking,” the Governor said.
The multi-million facility, according to the Governor will accommodate 7,000 traders.
Primary purpose of the project is to house only traders displaced by road expansion stretching to Mutindwa, Dagoreti and Marikiti Market.
