The whole of the Nairobi city centre, the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and other parts of the county will go without water for the entire day starting Thursday from 6:00 am.
Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) said it will shut down the water supply pipeline along Uhuru Highway due to ongoing construction of the Express Way.
Other areas which will be affected by the 24-hour water shutdown include the entire city centre, areas along Mombasa Road, South B and, the University of Nairobi main campus, Coca Cola factory, EPZ Athi River, the whole of Industrial area, and areas along Jogoo Road.
According to NCWSC, this will facilitate the interconnection of the relocated new and old water pipelines on Uhuru Highway between Haile Selassie Avenue and Bunyala Road junctions with Uhuru Highway to enable the release of the road corridor to the expressway road contractor.
You are therefore advised to use the available water sparingly.
