Nairobi Business Ventures stocks rallied Monday to top gainers at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) when it closed at 9.88 percent to trade at Ksh.7.56 per share.
It was followed by East African Portland cement, which rose by 9.81 percent, trading at Ksh.9.40.
Kenya Power gained 9.56 percent while WPP Scangroup was up 9.29 percent.
WPP has already informed its shareholders of the delay in announcing its half year results.
Williamson Tea ended the day 5.37 percent higher to close at Ksh.142.25 cents per share.
Biggest losers
Umeme shed 9.71 percent and was closely followed by Uchumi Supermarket which dropped 7.69 percent to close at 24 cents per share.
Eaagads shed 7.5 percent to close at Ksh.12.95.
Express Kenya was 4.76 percent down, while Carbacid investments shed 3.48 percent to close at Ksh.11.10 per share.
Movers
Bamburi was the day’s biggest mover, trading over 3.2 million shares worth more than Ksh.130 million.
Safaricom moved more than 2.3 million shares, followed by Kenya Power at above 2 million shares and Equity Group holdings, over 1.7 million shares.
Britam Holdings closed the day moving more than half a million shares.
