Konza technopolis to have state-of-the-art security command centre

Konza Technopolis will soon have a state-of-the-art security centre, marking the beginning of a major milestone in setting the standards for policing in Kenya and in the region.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangí and his Information Communication Technology and Innovation Counterpart, Joe Mucheru presided over the ground-breaking ceremony of the ultra-modern facility at Konza Technopolis.

The project under the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KOTDA) features a police station, security barrier, entrance feature, fire station, emergency response unit and an emergency response centre.

Speaking at the event C.S Matiangí underscored the need to embrace technology in policing as the game changer around the world.

“We are meeting this week to sort out the issues of zoning. Konza is now evidence of what happens when all arms of government work together and focus on things that matter.” Said C.S Matiangi.

On his part, C.S Mucheru said the facility which is expected to be completed by the end of the year will have the latest technology, adding that physical security and cybersecurity was paramount.

“It’s a facility that will have the latest technology. We recently launched 5G and we expect the technology to come here,” said C.S Macharia.
