The Kenyan government has allocated an additional Ksh.5 billion to State House Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi primarily for salaries and travel expenses.
This allocation comes despite the government’s advocacy for austerity measures.
State House itself has seen a significant overshoot in its budget, spending nearly Ksh.5.37 billion in the first half of the year against an intended Ksh.4.92 billion.
This overspending was largely on recurrent expenditures like maintenance, administration, and staff compensation.
