Government to procure 2 M masks in readiness for coronavirus

The government through the Kenya Medical Supplies Association (KEMSA) has procured 2 million face masks as part of its preparations for any eventualities associated with the corona virus outbreak. KEMSA CEO Dr. Jonah Manjari, said the masks will be distributed to areas that are deemed most vulnerable to outbreaks such as airports, hospitals and all entry points. Dr. Manjari further said that in line with the national governments’ response to corona virus outbreak preparedness, KEMSA will procure protective gears to a tune of Ksh850 million in order to ensure Mbagathi District Hospital is ready to deal with any reported and confirmed corona virus case.
