Fuel price drops by Ksh.1 in latest EPRA review

Price of fuel dropped by Ksh.1 in two consecutive months in fresh review by the Energy Petroleum and Regulatory Authority (EPRA).

A litre of Super Petrol will retail at Ksh.177 in Nairobi while the cost of Diesel dropped from Ksh.163 to Ksh.161, respectively.

The latest review, according to EPRA, is backed by lower landed costs of the fuel products in October.

The landed cost of imported super petrol decreased by 5.6 per cent, diesel by 2.33 per cent and kerosene by 9.08 per cent.

The government retained subsidies on diesel and kerosene keeping the cost of the two products between the prevailing global market rates.

“The price of diesel has been cross-subsidized with that of Super Petrol while a subsidy of Ksh.17.68 per litre has been maintained for Kerosene in order to cushion consumers from otherwise high prices,” said EPRA.
