The Government has announced the closure of four roads in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) when the National Budget Statement will be read in Parliament.
The roads that will remain closed include Parliament Road, Harambee Avenue, Taifa Road and City Hall Way.
Nairobi Regional Commissioner, James Kianda has said this is to necessitate easy movement to and from Parliament building during the reading of the Budget by the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Ambassador Ukur Yatani.
“The roads will be closed between 1:00 pm and 5: 30 pm,” Kianda said in a statement.
CS Yatani is expected to read the Ksh.3.6 trillion 2021/22 budget on Thursday afternoon.
Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes.
