Fear has engulfed Muranga County following Cholera outbreak, with four cases confirmed so far.
They were all rushed to Murang’a level 5 hospital and put in isolation for special treatment
Murang’a County Public Health Officer Mr. Muthui Gitonga, confirmed the cases and noted that rapid tests were conducted and that turned out positive.
“The cases are from Mjini and Kayole Area of Township. The disease surveillance officer has taken up the contacts and necessary actions have been taken and is in the process of setting up a C.T.U.” Said Gitonga
The Public health office has, however, banned food hawking, including cooking along the roads in a move seen to tame the widespread of cholera.
Residents have now been asked to boil water before drinking, exercise caution while eating in hotels and observe basic hygiene by ensuring they use clean sanitary facilities and wash their hands with clean water after visiting washrooms.
