The Family Group Foundation’s Tufuzu na Elimu programme is set to sponsor 352 bright students from vulnerable households, enabling them to join high school this year.
The foundation has allocated Ksh.90 million for scholarships, which will cover full tuition fees, school uniforms, and boarding fees for students from 34 counties and 66 constituencies.
In addition to financial support, the scholarship recipients will benefit from soft-skills training through annual mentorship workshops and academic boot camps.
The commissioning event was graced by notable figures including Elyas Abdi Jillaow, the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Wilfred Kiboro, the Chairman of Family Bank, Nancy Njau, the CEO Designate, and board directors of The Family Group Foundation, Dr. Francis Muraya, Muema Muindi, and Annie Muya.
Nancy Njau, the CEO Designate of Family Bank said she is committed to promoting inclusive and equitable quality education.
“Over the past 12 years, the Tufuzu na Elimu programme has positively impacted more than 1200 beneficiaries across the country, with an investment of over KES 300 million in the education sector,” said Njau.
