Estates in Nairobi to go without water due to ongoing Expressway construction

Some estates in Nairobi County will go without water beginning September 9 to 10, 2021.

According to the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC), the affected areas include Wayiaki Way from Kabete and will have no water due to ongoing construction at the Expressway.

The shutdown will facilitate the interconnection of relocated pipeline to the old pipeline along Waiyaki way Road from the old Safaricom building to the junction of Waiyaki way Road and Prof Wangari Maathai Road.

It will begin Thursday at 6:00 am till the following day same time.

Areas which will be affected include Easates along Awaiyaki Way, Rhapta Road, Parklands Road, Mpaka Road, Chiromi Lane, Manyani Road and Church Road.

Other areas include Highbridge and Westlands areas, Muguga Green Estates, Nairobi School and Kabete Barracks.

The MP Shah hospital, Sarit Centre and surrounding estates will also be affected.

“We appeal to our customers for indulgence and also urge them to use available water sparingly as we work towards restoring the supply,” said NCWSC in a statement.
