English Premier League Round Up

After a major international break, the English Premier League made a comeback with major fixtures lined this past weekend. Everton registered a 2-0 win over West Ham united with Bernard and Sigurdson scoring crucial goals in the 17th and 92nd minute of the game. Aston Villa beat 10 man Brighton FC 2-1.

This is after Aaron Mooy was sent off in the 35th minute of the game. Brighton seemed to have ahead started in the game this is after Adam Webster scored in the 21st minute Jack Grealish scored an equalizer just on the cusp of half time. For a moment both the teams seemed poised to pick points at the end of the game but a late minute goal by Matt Targett made all the difference and help Aston Villa to grab the much needed 3 points.

Tottenham Hotspurs could not seem to get back to their winning ways this is after they were held to a barren draw by Watford. Watford had scored early in the game on the 6th minute by a strike by Abdoulaye Doucourea. The goal seemed to threaten to deny them the much-deserved 3 points but was canceled on the 86th Minute by a strike by Delle Alli. Chelsea grabbed a 1-0 win over Newcastle United an important successive win under the leadership of former player Frank Lampard. Marcos Alonso scored Chelsea’s only goal in the 73rd minute.

Defending champions Manchester City seemed to return to their winning ways this is after they beat Crystal Palace 2-0. Goals by Gabriel Jesus and David Silva on the 39th and 41st minutes respectively proved to be the only leverage they needed to grab three points.

Arsenal’s winning run was put to a stop when Sheffield United stunned them by one goal courtesy of Lys Mousset. The much-anticipated game this past week seemed to be between Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s Manchester United and table leaders Liverpool FC. The game, which seemed to be a do or die game for Ole Gunnar’s side made them put up a spirited performance that was rewarded by a good finish by Marcus Rashford on the 36th Minute. For a moment the game seemed to be tilted in favor of Manchester United before a last-minute goal by Adam Lallana made the difference to ensure both teams pick up a point each.
