DStv Stream Launches New Features, Expanding Viewer Flexibility

DStv Stream is rolling out new features in November, introducing an enhanced Watch from Start function and Cloud PVR Recordings, allowing viewers to rewind up to 24 hours on select channels and save live shows to watch for up to 30 days.

The update will start on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 for web users, with gradual rollouts on iOS, Android, and other platforms.

“With Watch from Start and Cloud PVR, we’re giving viewers more control over their viewing experience,” said Nzola Miranda, Managing Director at MultiChoice Kenya. “We know our customers want the freedom to enjoy content on their schedule, and these new features blend the flexibility of streaming with live TV, offering the best of both worlds.”

The 24-hour Watch from Start feature, available on select channels like SuperSport, M-Net, Mzansi Magic, and kykNET, allows viewers to rewind up to 24 hours. This ensures fans can catch key live events, from major sports matches to popular shows, without missing a moment.

Meanwhile, Cloud PVR Recordings lets subscribers save live content in their “My Stuff” section, offering the convenience to watch at their leisure. These features will be rolled out via automatic updates where possible, ensuring a seamless experience.

This upgrade builds on DStv Stream’s interface enhancements from earlier in 2024, which introduced personalized recommendations and auto-play trailers to improve content discovery. With Watch from Start and Cloud PVR, DStv Stream continues to prioritize user experience, delivering more value to its customers.

November brings an array of new content to DStv Stream. Highlights include the debut of Dune: Prophecy on November 18 and the final season of Yellowstone, concluding the intense saga of the Dutton family. Other must-see titles include Lost Monster Files and Serengeti II, making this month a standout for diverse entertainment.

Sports enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to, with the Springboks facing off against England and Wales, the Proteas in action during India’s tour of South Africa, and tennis fans following the Davis Cup Finals Knock-Out Stage and Nitto ATP World Tour Finals.

The DStv Stream app is free for existing DStv customers, offering a second viewing environment and streaming on the go across devices. New customers can sign up in under five minutes—no dish or decoder required.
