SuperSport has secured exclusive broadcast rights for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 across English and Portuguese-speaking African countries, according to CANAL+, an umbrella body of SuperSport.
The 35th edition of the AFCON is expected to kick off in Morocco on December 21, 2025, and CANAL+ will make history as the first global broadcaster to air the continent’s premier football tournament in French, English, Portuguese, and local African languages.
What this means is that the French-based company, after it acquired Multichoice, would make Africa’s biggest football spectacle available to millions of viewers across the continent and beyond.
“Our newly formed merger with the MultiChoice Group has already unlocked opportunities and benefits for our customers,” said David Mignot, CEO of CANAL+ Africa.
“The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 is a great demonstration of the power and potential of this shared ambition combining our expertise to deliver unprecedented coverage. Broadcasting in multiple languages brings us closer to our viewers and celebrates African unity through football.”
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe welcomed the deal in which was described as a defining moment for African football.
