Absa Bank Kenya has partnered with Women’s World Banking to help more women in Kenya access financial support and grow their businesses.
The partnership, announced during a breakfast event in Nairobi, aims to provide women entrepreneurs with innovative financial and non-financial solutions.
The two organizations will work together to improve Absa’s Women in Business (WIB) program, which helps women access loans, training, and business support by creating products that meet the specific needs of women-led businesses.
“This partnership creates the perfect platform that combines Absa’s local experience with Women’s World Banking’s global expertise to empower women entrepreneurs with the tools, training, and financial boost they need to grow sustainable businesses,” said Elizabeth Wasunna-Ochwa, Absa Bank Kenya’s Director of Business Banking.

So far, the lender has already lend support to over one million women entrepreneurs in Kenya through its Absa SHE program, which offers financial and non-financial support to women business owners.
The first project under this new partnership will focus on supporting women in agribusiness, a key sector in Kenya that often lacks enough financial support, especially for women in underserved areas.
“We are thrilled to partner with Absa Bank on this innovative initiative to expand women’s access to finance and capacity-building. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to support women entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey,” said Mary Ellen Iskenderian, President and CEO of Women’s World Banking.
Absa is looking at breaking down barriers and create more opportunities for women to thrive in business, contributing to economic growth and financial independence.
