Absa Bank Kenya PLC has committed Ksh.60 million to sponsor the 2025 Magical Kenya Open (MKO).
This sponsorship reinforces their dedication to developing golf and promoting Kenya as a top golfing destination.
Ksh.40 million of this investment will support the local organizing committee, Kenya Open Golf Limited (KOGL), for seamless execution of the tournament.
The remaining funds will enhance promotional efforts and create exclusive experiences for fans and stakeholders.
At the announcement ceremony, Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, Eng. Peter Tum, said Kenya is committed to promoting sports and empowering youth.
“The government has once again agreed to invest heavily to ensure that Kenya successfully hosts the Magical Kenya Open 2025.
This commitment is not only about promoting sports but also about empowering our youth,” said Eng. Tum.

Absa Bank’s CEO, Abdi Mohamed, spoke about the positive impacts of sports initiatives like MKO, including tourism growth and job creation.

The 2025 Magical Kenya Open will feature 144 elite golfers, including Kenyan professionals, competing for a Ksh.322.5 million (USD 2.5 million) prize purse. Absa Bank and the Kenyan government aim to elevate Kenya’s status as a premier golfing destination.
