U.S Resumes Talks with Kenya of AGOA Ahead of September Expiry

U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has signaled the resumption of trade talks with Kenya, ending weeks of speculation about trade relations between the two nations.
The talks aim for a new bilateral trade agreement as the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) nears its September 2025 expiry.
Initial discussions between U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Kenya’s Trade Minister Lee Kinyanjui in Washington were described as “fruitful.”
