Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has been arrested in what sleuths blieve has a connection with the ongoing insecurity in Laikipia County.
Kamket was arrested on Wednesday at his Kositei home in Tiaty, Baringo County by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers.
Also in police custody over the banditry attacks is former Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel. He was arrested on Wednesday morning.
Kamket is currently being driven to Nakuru for grilling pending arraignment.
The ongoing banditry attacks have left a number of people dead with hundreds of families rendered homeless and schools set ablaze.
Melgwete Primary school in the troubled County was on September 8 set on fire by suspected bandits, barely a day after Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Laikipia Nature Conservancy and its environs due to insecurity.
They then later engaged security forces in a shootout as they headed back to a nearby valley.
