Ruto inks Ksh.8.7 billion deal with US firm for electric buses

President William Ruto signed a Ksh.8.7 billion deal with the United States (US) foreign aid agency MCC for the acquisition of electric buses.

The buses will operate on Line 2 of Bus Rapid Transit to ease traffic snarl-up in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

“The project aims to facilitate the timely operation of BRT lines and contribute to the government of Kenya’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions related to urban transportation,” said MCC on its website.
