President William Ruto met United States Presdient Joe Biden Friday as they conclude the 77 th United National General Assembly (UNGA) summit, in New York.
They both agreed to bolster bilateral relations between the two nations.
“Kenya will continue expanding its strategic partnership with the United States of America to advance peace and prosperity in Africa,” said President Ruto.
He had earlier met with the US Secreatary of State Antony Blinken where they discussed peace and security in Kenya.
Among other issues the two leaders discussed is looming food crisis in the country.
“Good meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto to discuss our countries’ ongoing efforts to address food insecurity and regional peace and security,” Blinken said on Thursday.
“I look forward to strengthening our strategic partnership, especially on trade and investment,” he added in a statement on Twitter.
The US agreed to work with Ruto administration to address food insecurity in Kenya.
