PSV Modern Coast to resume operations on Tuesday

Modern Coast buses will resume operations on Tuesday after the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) withdrew their license.

NTSA gave the go-ahead following the suspension last week after fatal crashes.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to all affected passengers who were not able to travel between the 12.12.2019 and 16.12.2019,” the bus company said in a statement.

The bus’ operating license was struck off after it got involved in a fatal accident which saw two of their busses collide, claiming seven lives leaving 62 others injured.

A day earlier, another Modern Coast bus had been involved in an accident with a similar vehicle from Tahmeed company.

NTSA Director General George Njao has called upon Kenyans at large to be vigilant and report to the police any reports of recklessness brought about by drivers on the highways

“We urge members of the public to report motorists endangering the lives of passengers or other road users to the nearest Police station or NTSA offices,” said Njao.

The authority is yet to release a report on the meeting with Tahmeed officials that was to take place on Monday.
