President Ruto arrives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

President William Ruto arrives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the launch of Safaricom Ethiopia.

This is his second meeting in Ethiopia after his last tour on October 6 last year when he witnessed the launch of Safaricom Ethiopia operations.

Safaricom Ethiopia is the subsidiary of Kenya’s largest mobile telco Safaricom and is the first foreign investment in Ethiopia’s telecommunications scene.

The President is also in Addis Ababa for the 36th ordinary session of the African Union (AU) which is expected to last on February 19, 2023.

“As a champion for climate action, President Ruto will advocate for Africa’s potential to lead the world and demonstrate that the continent can industrialize, thrive, and prosper – in a low carbon and sustainable manner,”

The President will be setting the course for a safer and cleaner future which will be powered by renewable energy.
