Class Eight pupil in Homa Bay stabs man over Ksh.150

A 20-year-old man is fighting for his life at Kisii County Teaching and Referral Hospital after a class eight pupil stabbed him in the head over Ksh.150.

Austine Odoyo was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition after he was stabbed with a knife by a 14-year old boy after a slight disagreement at Mbani trading center, in Ndhiwa constituency.

It is reported that Odoyo had paid the minor the cash to be allowed to use the motorbike belonging to the latter’s father to train when it broke down during the training session causing the disagreement.

The pupil was to join Form One on Monday who demanded the bike’s key. The victim declined by demanding the refund of his Ksh.150 since he had not finished training.

“The minor declined to refund the money saying that it will cater for the repairs when a confrontation ensued between them,” said assistant Chief of Kachuth Sub location, Lucas Airo.

Airo said that Odoyo was rushed to Ndhiwa Sub County hospital in a critical condition and later transferred to Kisii Referral hospital for specialized treatment after his health deteriorated.

The suspect is still at large as police launch a manhunt to arrest him.
