Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has put its cars on public auction, an exercise which will be conducted across the country.
The cars, which include Ford Rangers will go for as low as Ksh.500,000 and Ksh.1.1 million, three Mitsubishi Lancers valued slightly over Ksh.400,000 each and Chevrolet Cruizes.
The exercise scheduled from May 18 to May 27, 2022, also includes Yamaha motorcycles that range between Ksh.10,000 and Ksh.200,000.
Other items that are up for auction include assorted computers, worn-out tyres and office furniture.
KURA said “successful bidders will have to pay 25 percent of the purchase price on auction day” and payment should be made by May 16, 2022, at 4:00 p.m.
KURA said the auction will take place across 11 locations. At KURA Headquarters, the exercise will be conducted starting May 18 and May 20, 2022, at 10 am.
In Western Kenya, it will be at KURA Western Region office in Kakamega on May 25, 2022, while in Nyanza, it will be at the Public Works Grounds in Kisumu.
In North Rift, the exercise will happen at Pioneer-NYS-Langas Road in Eldoret on May 23, 2022.
In North-Eastern, the exercise will take place off Kismayu Road opposite NEP Girls on May 25, 2022, while in Lower Eastern, it will be at the Public Works Building in Machakos on May 26, 2022.
in the Coastal region, the auction will take place at the Public Works Building in Shimanzi on May 27, 2022, while in Nairobi, the exercise will be at the Machakos Road in Industrial Area on May 18, 2022.
In the Central region, the auction will take place at Public Works Offices along Kaburuni Road in Nyeri on May 19, 2022, while in South Rift, it will be at Public Works Building in Nakuru on May 20, 2022.
