Kenya has recorded 469 new cases of coronavirus from a sample size of 6,244 tests, translating to a positivity rate of 7.5 percent.
The new infections have pushed Kenya’s COVID-19 caseload to 166,006.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health has announced 8 more COVID-19 related deaths. According to Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe, 3 of the fatalities occurred on diverse dates within the last one month while 5 are late deaths from facility record audit conducted in the last one month.
Kenya’s cumulative fatalities have now jumped to 3,021.

In terms of recoveries, a total of 113,917 have conquered the virus cumulatively, after 43 more patients were declared COVID-19 free in the last 24 hours.
Government figures further show that 1,039 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,714 patients are on the Home-Based Isolation and Care Program. 108 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while another 91 are separately on supplemental oxygen.
