Kenya Calls for Innovating Africans to Apply for Connected 2024 Innovation Awards

The Kenyan Ministry of Information, Communications & the Digital Economy has announced a call for submissions to the Connected Africa Summit 2024 Innovation Awards, organized by the ICT Authority.

This event stems from the successful annual Connected Kenya Summit, which has been in place since 2009.

Innovators from across Africa are encouraged to participate by submitting their technology-driven solutions in key sectors such as Health, Trade & E-commerce, Smart Cities & Mobilities, Education, Agriculture.

Other areas are Climate Change, Green Technology, and the Creative industry. These solutions are expected to be at the forefront of AI-driven advancements.

The Connected 2024 Innovation Awards aim to celebrate African startups and Innovators who are leveraging ICT in ways to revolutionize the African landscape.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations to a global audience during the summit scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya from the 21st to the 25th of April, 2024.

Interested individuals can submit their applications through the provided link before the deadline on the 22nd of March 2024 at 6:00 pm.

Throughout the years, the Connected Summit Innovation Awards have acknowledged and honored various innovative ICT products and solutions that are making a tangible impact on society.

Under the theme This year’s Summit will concentrate on Africa’s ICT priorities in alignment with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The summit is themed “Shaping the Future of a Connected Africa: Unlocking Growth Beyond Connectivity,”

The event is anticipated to bring together a distinguished gathering of African Heads of State & Government, First Ladies, Ministers responsible for ICT, e-commerce, and the Digital Economy, policy makers, ICT visionaries, Industry Leaders, Global ICT corporations, Entrepreneurs, Investors, and Innovators.

With over 2,000 delegates expected to attend, the summit aims to redefine Africa’s ICT sector through policy development, investment, and innovation.

The discussions at the Summit will address critical ICT challenges facing Africa, including bridging the digital divide, identifying new ICT investment prospects, and transitioning towards a paperless government.

This platform will enable African leaders to shape the continent’s tech agenda in preparation for the UN Summit of the Future scheduled for September 2024, and to define their roles in green technology and the governance of generative AI tailored to African realities.
