Finance Act 2023 to remain suspended – High Court

The High Court has dealt yet another blow to President William Ruto after it stayed orders suspending the Finance Act, 2023.

This is after the court declined the move by the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndungu from implementing the Act.

After evaluating the submissions, Justice Mugure Thande said she has no difficulty finding that the petitioners have established a case with a probability of success.

The petition by Busia Senator Okiya Omutatah has been transmitted to Chief Justice Martha Koome to constitute a bench to hear the case.
