Aden Duale, the Cabinet Secretary nominee for the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry, has disclosed his net worth to be Ksh.980 million.
He spoke before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments on Friday, August 2, 2024 during vetting.
“My net worth is Ksh.980,000,000,” said Duale.
His wealth includes various assets such as land in Garissa, a cattle ranch, rental properties in Nairobi and Garissa, camels, cattle, motor vehicles, and proceeds from book sales.
Duale elaborated that his assets comprise land and houses in Garissa and Nairobi, a cattle ranch in Garissa, rental properties in both cities, shares in family-owned businesses, camels, cattle, motor vehicles, and revenue from his autobiography.
This figure represents an increase from the Ksh.851 million he declared when he appeared before the Appointments Committee on October 17, 2022.

Initially nominated as the Defence CS, Duale was reassigned by President William Ruto, who transferred him from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry, handing the Defense docket to former Environment CS Soipan Tuya.
Aden Duale’s Educational Background
Duale began his education at Boystown Primary School in 1981, earning his Certificate of Primary Education (CPE). He then attended Garissa High School in 1985, where he received his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
In 1987, he proceeded to Moi Forces Academy for his Kenya Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (KACSE).
Duale continued his studies at Moi University in 1992, graduating with a Bachelor of Education in Economics. In 2011, he attained a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT).
