
Coffee prices at this week’s auction at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange rose by 2-point 1 percent to 21,671 shillings per bag.
The price jump was primarily driven by an increase in the supply of the premium grade AA coffee whose price rose by 3-point 1 percent to 32,420 shillings.
The value of coffee sold at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange subsequently rose by 12-point 6 percent to 590 point 8 million shillings, up from last week’s sales that stood at 524 point 2 million shillings.
22,191 bags of coffee were sold at this week’s auction up from last week’s volume of 20,123 bags of coffee.
