The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has opposed the bail application of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko but with no objection to the release on bail of his co-accused.
This follows Governor Sonko's arraignment at Milimani Law Courts on Monday over corruption charges
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has ordered the arrest of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko over graft and other related matters.
According to Haji, his office has enough evidence to
prosecute Governor Sonko and said the governor should not resist arrest.
“Following a comprehensive investigation by
Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has acted with speed
following the collapse of Precious Talent School along Ngong Road in Nairobi by
firing 16 county officials.
Among Key officials suspended is County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning Charles Kerich. Mr. Kerich once served as Nairobi
