Naivas Supermarket has opened a third branch in Naivasha, bringing its total outlets in the region to three.
The new branch in Kayole joins its peers – Naivas Kubwa and Naivas Ndogo, bringing the total number of the retailer’s outlets in Kenya to 84.
“We celebrate each store opening as it adds fuel to the fire that drives the business which is to see to it that we remain to be a local success story upon which many other Kenyan entrepreneurs build their dreams. However, we are particularly very excited about this opening,” said Willy Kimani, Naivas Chief Commercial Officer.
Naivasha Ndogo is the original store that first bore the name Naivasha Self Service Stores, a name that later evolved to Naivas.
“The new outlet has a well thought out product range that has become akin to the brand and being the first foodmarket in Naivasha you can bet that the experience is going to be wholesome not just for the residence of Kayole but even for travelers headed to the rift and western part of the country,” added Kimani.
Naivas had put in plans to open three new branches in the country this year. Naivasha branch had been planned for opening on May 14.
A third store is set to be opened in Meru at a date which is yet to be disclosed.
The upcoming stores in Meru will raise the retailer’s branch network across the country to 85 as it races to defend market leadership against an aggressive QuickMart.
In quarter one (Q1) of 2022, the Real Estate sector recorded notable activities compared to a similar period in 2021 anchored on the recovery of the Kenyan economy enabling increased Real Estate property transactions and boosting investor confidence.
Aggressive entry and expansion by retailers such as Naivas, took up spaces previously occupied by troubled retailers such as Tuskys and Nakumatt.
