Metropol Corporation has inked a deal with a Danish Company, Ingemann Group, to create integrated Risk Management platforms in agricultural value chain management in Kenya.
The partnership has birthed a new product dubbed “Kilimo score”, which will provide information to customers through a bio climatic data platform called “Agroclimatica”.
Agroclimatica will provide risk scoring based scientific data of climate, soil, crops and livestock and their respective good practices.
“Agroclimatica identifies and quantifies the risks and opportunities associated with agricultural financing and insurance,” said Metropol Corporation in a statement.
The platform is a tool that allows transparency in the risk profile that enables financial institutions to:
-Reduce operational costs and losses in the agricultural portfolio
-Quantify the risk at farm level of clients
-Increase the loan portfolio
-Eliminate subjectivity in the decision-making process
-Report on environmental and social indicators
-Promote Financial Inclusion and digitization of agriculture
-Identify and design climate resilient products
This service, however, will not require any initial investment and is available on a Pay as You Use basis.
To sign up for the early bird offer just send an email to agroclimatica@metropol.co.ke
