The government has allowed cargo vessels into Mombasa port, even after restricting foreign travel and closing all schools amid coronavirus fears.
According to the government, Cargo vessels can continue coming to Mombasa port, the country’s busiest, provided they are disinfected at point of departure and people arriving along are quarantined in a bid to reduce the risk of contagion of the coronavirus within the East African country.
Health Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced additional measures on Tuesday after he confirmed another case of COVID-19 bringing the total to four.
The government is tracing persons who may have come in contact with the patient, said Kagwe. Some 111 people have so far been tested.
