Joe Ageyo appointed Nation Media Group’s editorial head

Joe Ageyo, a renowned journalist, has been named the editorial director of Nation Media Group’s Broadcasting division.

Ageyo, who recently left Royal Media Services, will help to design and implement the group’s editorial strategy.

Ageyo will be in charge of editorial functions of NMG broadcast operations in Kenya across multimedia platforms, according to a statement released by NMG CEO Stephen Gitagama on Tuesday.

“He will report directly to the Editor in Chief with a dotted reporting relationship to the executive director – transformation,” he said.

Ageyo stated he was fortunate to have led the most capable television team in the country, as well as the most diversified radio team, in his closing remarks on Citizen TV’s News Gang

Gitagama stated that Ageyo was fit for the NMG role due to his impressive career and educational background which also includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the School of Journalism, University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Egerton University.

“He also holds certificates in Sustainability Management and Environment Diplomacy from the University of Tilburg, Netherlands and the University of Geneva, respectively. He is a seasoned professional in journalism and brings a wealth of experience that will add great value to NMG.
