How stock market closed the week on NSE

The East African Portland Cement led Friday’s gainers on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) when it closed the day at 9.74 percent to trade at Ksh.8.56.

It was followed by Nairobi Business Ventures, which rose by 9.21 percent, to trade at Ksh.6.88 per share.

WPP Scangroup closed the day at Ksh,4.63 while Olympia Capital Holdings was up 4.76 percent.

Crown Paint ended the day at 4.61 percent higher to trade at Ksh.32.90 per share.

Top Losers

Turning to the day’s losing stocks, BK Group shed 8.89 percent.

It was followed by Equity Group Holdings which dropped 3.11 percent to close at Ksh.49.90 per share.

NCBA Group shed 2.68 percent to close at Ksh.27.20.

CIC Insurance was 2.07 percent down, while Stanlib Fahari shed 1.72 percent to close at Ksh.6.84 per share.

Top Movers

Kenya power was the day’s biggest mover, trading nearly 12 million shares.

Kenya Re rallied Kenya Power to move over 7.6 million shares, followed by Safaricom at 2.3 million shares and WPP Scangroup which traded more than 1.5 million shares.

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group closed the day moving slightly over 1.1 million shares.
