Gideon Moi speaks after President Moi’s death

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, the youngest son of the late and Kenya’s second President Daniel Arap Moi, revealed that his father died peacefully at around 5.20 am on Tuesday.

Gideon stated that the family had “accepted” the calling of his father, Mzee Moi home.

“We have accepted. But mine is just to give my heartfelt gratitude to Kenyans. Thank you and may God bless you…” he said.

Senator Moi was accompanied by the Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i and other state officers.

He spoke while at Lee Funeral in Nairobi awaiting the arrival of the body of Moi which was being flown from his home in Kabarack.

Moi died aged 95 but according to his Press Secretary Lee Njiri, Moi died aged 103.
