Safaricom announced Thursday it will support Kenyans affected by the flood through M-PESA Foundation.
The Ksh.30 million will be used to support the initial relief efforts.
Adil Khawaja, Safaricom Board Chairman said the package will include vital supplies, food and temporary shelter.
Other goodies in the package are medicines, and emergency medical kits in affected areas.
According to Khawanja, Safaricom would continue to pursue its purpose of transforming lives and engaging more with the communities it serves.
He announced this on the sideline of Safaricom’s full-year results for the year ended March 31, 2024.
Safaricom Earnings in FY2024
Safaricom’s earnings before tax hit Ksh.139.9 billion, the first company in the region to cross the $1 billion mark.

Safaricom Kenya saw a 13.7 percent rise in net income, amounting to Ksh.84.74 billion.
Safaricom Group’s net income, excluding minority interest grew by 1.2 percent to Ksh.62.99 billion.
“We are extremely pleased with what we have achieved as a group despite the significant start-up costs in our Ethiopia business.
We expect that from 2025, Ethiopia will start being a significant growth contributor at group level for both top and bottom line,” said Ndegwa – Safaricom CEO.
