EU to dual Busia Highway in a deal with Governor Otuoma

Busia Highway stretching into neighbouring Uganda will soon have a new face following years of its shambolic state since the Moi era.

This follows a deal (at an undisclosed fee) that was struck between Busia County Governor Dr. Paul Nyongesa Otuoma and the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Kenya  Henrette Geiger.

“We have agreed on need to dual the Main highway from Korinda  to the One Stop Border Post (OSBP), “ said one-time Governor, Otuoma.

This will be among a few dual carriages in Western Kenya and will ease operations at the border and promoting border community trade.

In September last year, Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) laid down plans to also dual and expand the 40km highway from Amukura House to Ugunja in Siaya County.
