Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi officially inaugurated this year’s Customer Service Week at the Huduma Centre, GPO, in Nairobi, recognizing customers from across the country for their continued support.
Among the attendees were Metropol CRB Chief Executive Gideon Kipyakwai, Metropol’s Head of Customer Service Ruth Nyamburi, and Head of Quality Assurance Manager Cosmos Nyangi.
Metropol, with a service desk inside the Huduma Centre, provides individuals access to a range of CRB services.
During the ceremony, Kipyakwai encouraged customers to take advantage of Metropol’s ongoing “Stay Updated” campaign, which facilitates loan approvals via the USSD code *433#.
During his address, CS Muturi outlined plans to expand Huduma services nationwide, with a vision to establish 290 sub-county Huduma Centres.

So far, six new centres have been operationalized in Tharaka Nithi, Kajiado, Kiambu, and Laikipia counties.
He encouraged government ministries, departments, agencies, and county governments that lack staff to take advantage of the Huduma Kenya Universal Agent program.
“The Huduma Kenya Universal Agent will be trained to deliver various government services on behalf of Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and counties,” said Muturi.
The CS also acknowledged the ongoing challenge many Kenyans face in accessing certain government services, as not all services are available at their local Huduma Centres, forcing some to travel long distances.
“This is occasioned by partial or non-deployment of these services in all Huduma Centres. For instance, out of the 57 Huduma Centers, the National Transport and Safety Authority services are offered in only 15 Huduma centres. Some citizens have to travel more than 200 kilometres to renew their driver’s licenses or apply for new ones.”
