Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has declared Friday, May 14, a public Holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr.
The Interior CS made the announcement in a Gazette Notice No. 4205 dated May 5, 2021.
Idd ul-Fitr, the Festival of Fast-breaking, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world to mark the end of Ramadan.
It is the second year that Muslims worldwide will be marking Eid al-Fitr under COVID-19, with restrictions on movement and gatherings.
