Car owners and drivers using digital taxi applications have signed an agreement with Myride pap limited, a digital taxi company, that will see pricing models discussed and agreed on by all the partners including the drivers and car owners.
The commission per trip will not be more than 15 percent and there will be a joint committee that will look at issues affecting the industry.
The deal comes at a time when drivers and car owners are pushing for more involvement in the discussions on pricing, commissions and the provision of social protection services.
Despite the rise in the price of fuel in the country, the drivers continue to make losses as trip prices remain the same and the commissions paid to the digital applications are high.
The Digital Partners Society (DPS) has also given the other taxi-hailing companies including Uber, Bolt and Little Cab 30 days’ notice to come on board or risk losing their drivers and customers to Myride pap.
