More than 4,600 people have died of coronavirus and over 126,000 infected globally according to WHO.
About 68,000 victims have, however, recovered according to Hopkins University which is tracking the virus.
World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the outbreak a pandemic as Italy, the latest hard-hit country tightened its strict quarantine and the US imposed a ban on flights from Europe.
Uganda is the latest country in Africa that has restricted visitors from some countries to enter the country following high cases of coronavirus globally.
President Museveni’s led government restriction on travel targeted China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, South Korea, and Spain.
“Government has decided to ask travellers from the affected countries not to come to Uganda because the high cases they are reporting can easily be imported into the country,” the country’s health minister Jane Ruth Aceng said in a statement.
Aceng said those who insist on visiting the East African nation from these countries would have to self-quarantine at their own cost for 14 days either at home or at a government facility.
Among the countries in Africa which have cancelled flights to China over the fear of coronavirus include; Rwanda Air, Kenya Airways and Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc.
